The process to creating the perfect sweater

See the schedule below for what you will learn from the pre recorded 15-20 minute videos' uploaded each day.

Measure and choose your size

Understanding how to measure yourself and choosing the correct size is the foundation for any garment. It is so important to get this right and set yourself up for sewing success.

Cutting the pieces

Making sure you cut your pattern pieces correctly is the next important step to any well made garment. It is common to be different sizes across your measurements and we will teach you to cut your pattern pieces in the right sizes with confidence.

Sewing the shoulders and sleeves

In this video we start sewing the garment including stay stitching, attaching the front and back piece together and sewing in our sleeves.

Sewing the front and back bands

The trickiest part of the whole garment. Watch as we attach these bands, allowing you to stop, rewind and re watch any parts you need to get it perfect!

Final touches, the neckband and cuffs

The finishing touches! We finish off our boatneck neck style and add the cuffs. Get ready to show off your new sweater!

Hello, I'm Megan

Almost three decades ago, I picked up my first needle and thread, sparking a lifelong passion for sewing that grew from a personal hobby to a shared experience. In 2022, I took a bold step and launched Sew & Tell Australia, channeling years of accumulated knowledge and enthusiasm into a platform that helps sewists globally.

When does the Sew Along start?

The Sew Along begins on Monday, January 27th, 2025, and runs through Friday, January 31st, 2025. We will be sewing the Boat Neck version with long sleeves with a new video tutorial released each day for you to follow along.

Can’t commit to that week? No worries, your registration includes lifetime access, watch and sew in your own time, any time!

I Don't Have Facebook, Can I Still Participate?

Absolutely! While the Facebook Group will have a lot of the community aspect, there is also a private recap page in your personal Sew and Tell account area that will have all the videos uploaded daily.

No need for Facebook to participate and still get loads of value!

How much does it cost to join?

The Sew Along is just $17 USD or $25 AUD, which includes the pattern, tutorials, and access to the online community for the week.

What if I can’t sew during the week of the Sew Along?

That’s totally fine! All patterns and tutorials are yours to keep forever, so you can sew at your own pace, even after the Sew Along ends.

How Will I Access The Content?

Each day a new video lesson will be emailed to you AND posted in the Facebook Group.

If you miss these emails, the lessons will also be available on a private recap page in your own personal account area.

Once you register, you will automatically have a student account created on the Sew and Tell Australia lesson platform and an email will be sent with instructions on how to access your account.

You will have ongoing access to the tutorials. There is no pressure to ‘do it all’ in the week, you can go back and revisit them whenever you need to!
